~ Layered Dessert ~

I made this for a dinner party I attended. I didn't even think to take pics during the creating process but I did once it was finished. I planned to take my camera so you could see the layers but I forgot it!  Anyway, it's pretty and it's another chance to have chocolate!  ;-)

1st layer
1 c. flour
1 stick butter (8 T.)
1 c. chopped pecans
Mix well and then place in a 9 x 13" baking dish. Bake at 350 for 10-15 min...does not get brown. Cool completely.

2nd layer
1 8 oz. pkg cream cheese
1 c. powdered sugar
Mix with electric mixer until smooth...then add:
1 c. Cool Whip (thawed) and blend well.
Pour over crust mixture and chill in the refrigerator until set.

3rd layer
1 large pkg. Chocolate or Chocolate Fudge Instant Pudding & Pie Mix
2-1/2 c. milk
Mix well; this sets up pretty quickly.  Then pour over the cream cheese layer and chill until set.

4th or Top layer
Use the rest of the Cool Whip to cover the chocolate mixture. Grate or make chocolate curls on top with 1 plain Hershey bar. Use milk or dark chocolate ~ your choice!  Chill thoroughly prior to serving.

Enjoy!!  Oh, and yes, the calories/fat have been zapped from this recipe.  ;-)

  6. I make this and it is so good. I've also done it with lemon pudding, pistachio pudding and sometimes half chocolate, half vanilla. You can't go wrong with this recipe. Yum, I wish I had some right now.
