~ Eight Cubed ~

I was tagged by my friend, Candace, to play this game so please find her questions & my answers below. What is Eight Cubed, you ask? Eight cubed is where Eight people get to answer Eight questions and then tag Eight of their friends with Eight questions of their own. Get it? Got it! Good!

1. When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up and are you living that dream?
You know, I don't remember wanting to "be" anything or anyone special.  How sad is that?  I have lived a beautiful dream of having kids though ~ a son and a daughter ~ and also 2 "perfect" grandchildren.  I had a great 30 year career with a major airline with wonderful opportunities. I have incredibly wonderful friends and I am so fortunate to still have my health!

2. Do you have a Bucket List? If so, what is the one thing on that list left to fulfill that means the most to you?
I do have a Bucket List!  I've been very fortunate to have accomplished many of the items on the list. I think one thing would be to have a home in the mountains to get out of this ding dang heat!

3. What is the best thing you ever ate?
Anything my mother and my favorite aunt cooked!  My mother always made me an Italian Cream Cake for my birthdays and a special tin of Divinity at Christmas. Those meant the world to me!

4. What is your most memorable birthday?
I think being in NYC ~ one of my favorite cities in the world!  My birthday is Dec 1st so Rockefeller Center was all Christmasy, the tree was spectacular, ice skaters were having a blast, the stores were "wrapped" like presents, lunch at The Tavern on the Green was more than delightful and the Christmas show at Radio City Music Hall was totally incredible!  The Rockettes were to die for ~ and even though I've seen them elsewhere, including this area, it's just not the same. That was one of my favorite trips to NYC as well as a very memorable birthday!

5. Who was your best friend when you were a child and are you still friends?
Her name was Margie. She did some things that ruined our friendship and broke my heart. Unfortunately, she passed away several years ago after a very lengthy bout with cancer. Very sad!

6. What was the best piece of advice your Mother ever gave you?
This is difficult to answer as she did not offer advice really...she "dictated" orders. My grandmother was my favorite. She taught me the Lord's Prayer as a very young girl and always told me that to pray "Thy will be done" was the most difficult part and really mean it.  So true!

7. If you had a child today, what would you name him/her?
Hmmmm, I think I would name a girl Sara or Madison (the latter is my granddaughter's middle name). A boy?  Forrest Morgan after my grandfather.  I was not able to do that when my son was born.

8. Tell me about one of your favorite family holiday traditions - any holiday you choose.
Christmas Eve!  My mother always had our gathering/celebration on Christmas Eve as we seemed to all have other places to go on Christmas Day. She and I took turns having it and now my daughter and I do. I spend the night at my daughter's or go there early Christmas morning for stockings and breakfast. My son & his famly live next door and we watch the grandkids open their gifts, have coffee and cinnamon rolls that I make each year.  They all insist upon that!  ;-)

I'm not going to name Eight people because I was told to...a bit of a rebel here don't 'cha think?  I'm just trying to be a good girl here and not put anyone on the spot! :-) I'd love for you to play along though. Please feel free to do so...and please let me know so that I make sure to stop by and see your answers. I am interested in hearing from each and every one of you! If you would rather answer in the comment section than do a blog post, by all means, go right ahead!

My 8 questions are:
1.  What is your favorite time of the year and why?
2.  Tell me what your most special dream for the future is.
3.  Do you prefer TP (toilet paper) over or under?
4.  Would you prefer to cook or make reservations?
5.  I'd love to know your most memorable holiday ever!
6.  What is your favorite item of clothing?
7.  Coffee or tea?
8.  If I came to visit, what would we do?

I really, really, really hope that someone will play along!  ;-)  Would ya, huh? Pretty please???
