~ Ramblings ~

Have there been issues with Blogger again?  I have tried and tried to leave comments on several blogs but can't do it. I've gone through several attempts re: my password and attempting to log in.  I hope this goes through...although it's not really a vital post. :-)

We had horrendous weather around here last night. Tornadoes dancing all around, however, we were very fortunate that they didn't touch down. Sirens, golf ball size hail, wind, rain ~ you name it!

In the midst of this, I had a little kitchen fire. Yes, "Earth, Wind & Fire" for sure! Thank God, it was mild and I got it out quickly. I also got everything cleaned up in a short time while wondering if I should be in the closet.  Have to have the range checked out by Maintenance but didn't feel like having them in here today.

I had my purse (with important papers), my phone and my dog with me in the closet!  I had time to look around and think about what I needed to go through and donate...once again.  I promise, if anyone had dropped by and asked if I wanted to move I would have said, "Yes!" and walked out with my purse, my phone and my dog.  Forget the boxes this time!  :-)

While in the closet I really did contemplate where I would choose to live...without extreme heat and humidity or tons of snow and what would be my preference ~ tornadoes, hurricanes or earthquakes?  Of course the choices would be much simpler if I won the Lottery!

My brother and sister-in-law left early this morning for Joplin, MO.  A group from their church is taking supplies and donations and a willingness to work and help out.  I will be anxious to hear what they have to share when they return.

I'm starving right now and not a clue as to what I will eat. I wonder if Oprah's chef is available?  Yeah, right!  Oh well, a girl can dream...

I hope that each of you have had a great day!  Perhaps tomorrow will bring a resurgence of energy and some creativity to share with you.

  1. What scary heart breaks for the fear that is in so many peoples hearts. Loosing everything, it just seems so unreal. Coming out of the closet takes on a whole new meaning doesn't it?! ;D

  2. OH Pat, I felt sorry for you thinking of you in the closet with the dog. My boys and I were in there a couple of weeks ago, it was so stressful. It's over and your OK...Thank God. The weather is so horrid all over, there is no perfect place to live. I lived in Buffalo most of my life, then South Florida and now South Carolina. I really do love South Carolina, and up until the a few weeks ago, we have never had any bad weather to speak of. Blogger stinks on another note. Hope this long comment comes through. Have a safe peaceful night. Oh and get that stove checked ASAP!

  3. Glad you are safe! We've had tornado warnings all day, but the severe weather seems to be dancing around us. Hoping we don't have to retreat to the basement tonight! I have had the same blogger issues. Glad I'm not alone... I thought maybe I accidentally changed a setting or something. So frustrating! Have a great evening. Hope Mother Nature gives you a break :)

  4. wow,, thats scary stuff for sure be safe and keep us updated ,, my heart goes out to you.Don't use the stove again until its checked out.Holey moley,, you have had some bad day!

  5. Oh Pat Sweetie...
I am so sorry to hear that you went through all this alone, but with your critter, sweet one. I hope you at least had a flashlight to take away the fear of the dark, and a little battery operated radio. This would keep you up to date as to what was going on.

I love living here in the desert. We really don't have the problems with the storms like that. (I grew up in OKLA. though in tornado alley, so I know all about them. We moved out here almost 26 years ago, and I do not miss any of those storms.)

Put together a little bag that you can keep in the closet for safe keeping, a storm bag, including water and anything else you might need. Leave it there during these times, then you will always be ready.

Yep it has been bad around blogger land with the comments of late, not to mention not having had a dashboard for about 5 months now, oh but on a couple of occasions, it has came through. I have to try and search through all my comments to find my friends' blogs. Even Google Reader will show nothing most of the time. Go figure?

Stay safe my friend. I will be keeping you in my prayers through these stormy nights. You are not alone sweet friend. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

  6. Hi Pat, Tessa and I was hunkered down in the powder room last night during the storms and I actually saw a tornado here in the Argyle area... scary stuff!
I had the same issues with blogger for 2 days, how I got it fixed was to uncheck the little keep me logged in box and then it started working again, so give that a try.
    Glad your alright my friend!

  7. These storms are just horrendous and they are everywhere. It has been raining and thundering here for 3 straight days. We are lucky by comparison to the South though. I am so thankful. I feel bad you were so scared and alone.

A lot of people have been having problems commenting I have heard. I don't know what is causing it, but I hope it doesn't last too long.

    Wishing you sunny skies!

It makes my Heart happy to hear from you! Thank you so much for taking the time to say hello. I want to respond to each comment, however, if you are a "no reply blogger" I can't. Would love to have an email address to contact you!
