~ Hints ~

Perhaps a shade of grey.....but not "50"  ;-)
Granite Grey ~ Behr

My new favorite color combo ~

Add some more color....always!  These are a few that I'm loving.

And some and white, two favorites!

I've had such a struggle re: bedding but I'm going with solid white. Mark this down in history, ok?  I've never, ever, never had solid white. I love having white sheets during the summer ~ seems they always look and feel so much cooler. Using the white bedding will allow me to change decorative colors also for the fall and winter.

Anyway, a guy is coming on Monday to provide an estimate for painting my bedroom. I love to paint but just can't do this much anymore due to my funky knees. He will also tell me how much paint and then....then I have to decide on the color for the walls. It's a must to do this economically so the finished product may not be as quick as I'd like. Oh well, the "doing" is the fun for me.

A question for you ~ I have a dark wood bedside table and I want to paint it.  Do you have a suggestion?  Black, white, silver, purple stripes, orange polka dots, red gingham, ????  LOL   That's another color decision.

  1. I would base the color decision of the bedside table on what color the walls and bedding are going to be. OH! DUH, you said you were going with all white bedding. What color on the walls???? If it's a grey, I might paint the bedside table black. XO, Pinky

  2. I think you need to decide on a wall color before you pick you bedside table color. I AM loving the grey for the walls (is that what you are thinking)...then I would either do white for the bedside table or black, I think. Blessings- xo Diana

  3. Grey walls, hmmmm, I might do the night stand in black, put a pop of yellow in somewhere with pillows on the bed or a lamp shade. Can't wait to see it all finished. xo

  4. I'm in love with that yellow and white pattern too. We must have really good taste. How fun to be redecorating your bedroom.

  5. Hi, Pat! If you're feeling daring, the yellow would be amazing on your bedside table! :) Otherwise, I'd go with white on the table and use the yellow on accent pillows and accessories. (Maybe a bright yellow lamp.) This way you've got a few more options on changing up a white, gray and yellow color scheme by replacing the yellow with apple green, red, black, or purple! Can't wait to see what you decide!

  6. Isn't it fun but confusing when we start redoing a room....good luck. :)

  7. What beautiful colors and patterns! I love white bedding... and it is not like a huge investment piece... it can easily be changed!
Now about your little table... let's see it so we can better help you.

  8. Nothing brightens up a room more than a fresh coat of paint! I love, love, love the color combos at the top of this post. Grey is such a popular color right now and I'm so surprised at how many things go well with it. But yellow is the bomb-diggity! I'd love to see that little side table silver!

  9. Love gray and yellow together!

I need new bedding too - a bit paralyzed since I don't want to make the wrong choice (and then want to switch again in a few months)!!

I just painted my outdoor dresser Peacock Blue (Behr) - it's bright, bold and fun! It may be the pop of color you need with the gray and yellow.

  10. Your bedroom is going to be amazing! I agree with so many others. I think the yellow will be amazing!

  11. Hi Pat, thanks for visiting me! I think it's sooo hard to choose paint colors. Are you going with gray on the walls? The white bedding will be nice and fresh. My son and DIL have that with blue walls and it's sooo pretty always. A black side table might be pretty. It will be fun to add accessories.

  12. Hi Pat,

Gray walls and white bedding sounds hip and young. Give the table the same feel and paint it yellow :)

  13. I'm always so terrible at making decisions. I would have to decide on a wall color first, before I could decide on the table color. Orange polks dots or red gingham have intrigued me though. :D

  14. LOL the subtitle grabbed my attention!!! I would paint the bedside table white because it will go with everything!

  15. Hi Pat - I am your newest follower - thanks so much for stopping by -
I went all white with bedding years ago - accent pillows for a pop of color if necessary! Bedside table?
White - with a black or yellow
    chevron pattern!!!

  16. I have all white bedding and love how easy it is to change up the accent colors when I want a fresh look. If you're going with gray for the walls, I think your table would be smashing in a bright fun color. Good Luck! Can't wait to see the finally reveal. :-)

  17. I'm not much with color, but I'm thinking maybe gray for walls than mix it up with color. Pops of yellow, red or black & white. Big decision...Good Luck!

  18. I love all the colors! And the white bedding sounds wonderful...I love the yellow, too! :)

  19. I can't wait to see it all come together. I have white bedding and I do LOVE it. You can add so many pretty colors to go with it. The bedside table I would have to see it to give an opinion.

  20. Once you have that wall painted, you should definitely paint the table. Can't wait to see what you do. Thanks so much for coming by and leaving me sweet comments at Quirky Vistas. I'm now following you too! Love all the colors and patters. They are good for getting ideas flowing!
