~ Rambling ~

I know I haven't posted much lately ~ just so much going on. The situation with the folks upstairs almost got the best of me. Not sleeping, being on edge all the time and constant noise has taken a toll. I found myself doing and saying things last week that is not me at all. Saw the Dr on Friday and he gave me something to help sleep temporarily as well as blood work for my thyroid. So far, I am sleeping better and that's a huge blessing!

The people started moving last Thursday evening. Just to give you a glimpse of their character, they had 2 guys in a truck to help but they threw their furniture off the balcony onto the ground!  I heard this whomp, bang, thump and looked out. There was a sofa, a chair, a table, boxes, a mattress, box springs, you name it! This was a first for me. I try so hard to take care of my things...as most people do...and I cannot imagine this. Then they, along with others, were there all day Friday cleaning, banging and doing who knows what. I was in tears by the evening.

We had 2 deaths in our family last week so I have been pretty fragile. I do know I'm a short timer here and that's a HUGE blessing!  I'm working so hard on clearing out and organizing before the packing begins. It's amazing to see the things I haven't used and some I've actually forgotten about. These need to go to new homes and bless others.

My apologies for this post being a downer ~ it's just where things are right now. In the midst of all the chaos, I am still grateful! I have so many blessings and my heart and prayers are still with the folks in West, TX and all of those affected by the storms in OK.

I have completed a couple of projects that I will show you soon. I think that painting has begun a form of therapy for me...like cooking and baking. :)

Enjoy your days and be sure and tell your friends and loved ones how much you care. We only have this moment, right now!  Will check back in when I can.

  1. Hi Pat- Your post is no downer- it is just real life! Sorry about the idiots-at least they have moved out now. I was gone because I didn't have a computer and it is nice to be able to visit again. Hang in there-when you hit the bottom-the only way is UP, you know- xo Diana

  2. Your post is real, Pat. I am having a hard time with posts on pillows and stuff lol.) I also have been thinking about West, Texas, did they ever confirm what caused that explosion? I don't remember hearing any updates. Moving is such a stressful time, but your new place is awesome and I just know you will find happiness and peace there. And I am so sorry for the two losses, May they RIP. xo

  3. That is unbelievable. Wonder if they planned on using those things again? I'm glad you're sleeping a bit better and on the road to better things to come!

  4. Sometimes real life isn't all rainbows & roses. Hang in there, Pat. Sorry for your two losses. Things can only get better, right?

  5. I'm so sorry you've been having a hard time. Those neighbors sound unpleasant to say the least. It's good they're gone now. Hopefully you can start sleeping better soon. It's so hard to function on such little sleep. Things will get better soon. I wish you a future filled with much happiness and peace. :)

  6. Well focus on the nice place you are moving too soon. And then laugh about people who would throw their furniture over the rail to the ground to move.

  7. I am so sorry for all the stress...I know that fragile feeling and it isn't good at all. How wonderful that you can paint...I have no skills and baking has calories! I do have skills with that!

I am so glad that you get to leave that place. I can't imagine throwing the furniture down like that...crazy people! Take care and don't forget to breathe!

  8. Good riddance to those people- I'm wondering why you didn't ask to assist them in throwing their things out the window. ;)
    Hang in there, Pat.

  9. Oh my, Pat, I can't believe how people treat their belongings! Yea, that they're gone!!!
I'm sorry for your two losses in one week. At least you are painting and that is good therapy and you'll be moving soon. That is something to look forward to. xo

  10. Hopefully this is just a dark patch before a beautiful dawn! You have a great attitude and a sweet spirit; thanks for sharing that with the rest of us!

  11. Pat please don't apologize for sharing real life. That's what friends are for. I'm just so sorry to hear about your losses and then on top of that you have to deal with these awful people. Hang in there Pat. Once you start getting better sleep you'll be surprised how your outlook changes. I'm speaking from experience. hugs to you!
