~ Enjoying Life ~

This is another article from the Daily OM.

Remembering the Moment

It is only in the present moment that we experience being alive.
Life, in all of its fullness, is happening right now. While our thoughts are sometimes elsewhere, beautiful opportunities and moments are being passed over and lost to the flow of time. And though we cannot possibly fully experience each leaf that falls to the ground, sometimes we get so attached to reaching our goals that we don’t pay attention to the wonder all around us. When we do that, we live in a world that exists only in our heads, while we miss life itself. There is so much to be enjoyed and appreciated that we need to remember to pay attention to the present moment, because it is the only space in which we can experience being alive.

We learn from our past, but dwelling on it keeps us from being fully present to life in the moment. We create our lives with our thoughts, but focusing so firmly on our imagined future keeps us from
co-creating with the universe, so we might never allow ourselves to live our dreams as they manifest. It’s possible to be so happy and comfortable in our inner worlds that we lose touch with the business of life. We may enjoy spending large portions of time in meditation, or focused on our thoughts.

Life must be attended to, and if we are wise, we can enjoy it at the same time. We can awaken ourselves to the moment we are living right now by taking a deep breath and simply looking around. In doing so, we refocus our attention to our location in the real world. Then we can learn to appreciate the process of working toward our goals as much as their attainment. Balancing ourselves between the present moment and eternity, we can experience and enjoy the full range of reality available to us as spiritual beings living on earth.

~ Happy Memorial Day! ~

I hope you'll take some time this holiday weekend to observe and honor those that gave their all for our freedom!  I think it's so important to pay homage to our veterans and active duty military also. We're still the land of the free ~ because of the brave!

    ~ Tuesday Thoughts ~

    Texas Bluebonnets

I  'think'  all my technical issues are over!  It's been a rough 6 weeks. My phone number has been changed 5 times ~ yes you read that correctly!  Time Warner Cable would not release it back to AT&T until last Thursday.  On Saturday, the number was disconnected and I was back to the 4th number (temporary) that I had. I had gone as far as the Executive office of AT&T in this whole process. The lady that had been working with me called on Monday, after the last switch, to see how things were going.  I explained the past few days experiences and told her to just leave the number as is.  I was exhausted with all of it!

Does anyone know how to correct the problem with Feedburner not sending emails when a blog post is completed?  I haven't been receiving the emails and it's so frustrating!

Would you believe we've had 90F temps for a few days and this morning it was in the low 50's. Will be the same in the morning and high in the 60's. It's refreshing to me as I dislike the 100+ temps we have during the summer.  I know so many of you are sick of the cold and snow...I would be too if I had experienced a winter that you did.

Do you watch the news daily?  It's so negative, IMHO.  And there's so much flak out there now in regard to the Clippers and Sterling....now the Michael Sam situation.  I so wish there was a station that provided  important  news info, weather and happy, feel good stories.

Do you really care about seeing Tori and Dean's personal business being shown?  I would like to give him a swift kick in the _ _ _!  I guess I just can't imagine putting such personal issues on TV. Now I need to stop the negatives!  :)

I really hope that each of you had a very Happy and blessed Mother's Day!  I had a wonderful day. Went to The Flying Fish in Ft. Worth with my daughter & s-i-l for a late lunch...no crowd and as always, the food was delish!  We had oysters on the half-shell, shrimp, catfish, etc. It just doesn't get much better!

If you watch TV, have you seen the list of cancelled tv shows?  There are some new shows that are being premiered too.

I've been able to spray paint items without the wind blowing and the gold paint is almost gone!  Will hopefully be able to show you a few things very soon.

If you've read all of this crazy post, thank you!!  :)  I am looking forward to being able to catch up with everyone and see what you've been up to.

    ~ Happy Mother's Day! ~

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

~ What would you do for love? ~

In February 2014, one of Gerdi McKenna's friends wrote an email requesting a photoshoot for all her friends as she was diagnosed with breast cancer a few months before ... and this is what happened...

    Anything for Love

An amazing group of friends, right?

I know that the "C" word has affected most of our lives in one form or another. If you feel like you might want to spread some cheer to others, I encourage you to volunteer with Chemo Angels.  I have participated in this organization since I retired in 2003.  There are many ways to help and it's all about sending sunshine and positives to those going through treatment. You can determine the level of participation that you prefer as well as designate either a child, female or male patient and the age group. I have to tell you that you will receive more blessings from this than you can imagine. :)  If interested: click here.

If you have any questions, please let me know!
