~ Did You Know? ~

About the color choice for 2016 by Benjamin Moore?  Surprisingly, it is "Simply White". Take a look here: Benjamin Moore 2016 Color Trends

What do you think?  It will be interesting to see what Pantone, Sherwin Williams and others choose.

About a free tool called Peek  ? Actually, they record a person’s first impressions of your blog/site and it’s usability and send it to you. It’s 5 minutes of totally unbiased opinion from a stranger – which could be pretty valuable I'm sure. I might suggest that you don't take it personally! One person’s opinion isn’t necessarily going to be everyone’s opinion but hearing my ‘tester’ offering critique about things on my blog without really taking the full 5 minutes was a bit disappointing. Oh well...  She advised that my blog is too flowery, looks as though I'm selling products (the Friday 5 "suggestions") and she didn't have time to read more. I'd say it was maybe 2 minutes. I'll try again in a few weeks and see what happens!  :)

Just thought I'd share a couple of things today. Hope your week is going well!

  1. Pat, I have had people tell me to try certain things for my blog...Truth is my daughter helped me make it and I am afraid to try different things...for fear of losing it or maki8ng it worse. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  2. I've never heard of this site, Pat. I wonder what they would say about our blog. It was designed by me and daughters, so who knows?

  4. I had never heard of Peek, but I'll definitely have to try it...thanks for sharing! I'm kind of surprised but kind of not surprised at the Benjamin Moore paint color. All of the fresh, simple, modern mid-century, and even bohemian styles that are so popular right now usually begin with a white background with lots of color and texture added through accessories.

  5. Very interesting. I wonder who really decides. I am very familiar with Peek. I have used them numerous times. It all depends on who reviews your site. I have had some great ones and some stupid people who haven't a clue. xo

  6. I've always wondered who this panel is that decides the color of the year. It's always interesting to see what they pick. I personally love Simply White. It's the color we chose for our kitchen cabinets. :)

  7. Hi Pat, I am also familiar with Peek and have used them a time or two. I agree with Linda's thoughts on it.
I am certainly not surprised at the upcoming color for the new year with BM. Thanks for sharing. I happen to showcase whites on my blog today.
Have a great weekend. Hugs and Blessings, cm

  8. Eek! Not sure if I could take the constructive criticism from the folks on Peek but it sounds like a great idea. Thanks, Pat!
