~ Lent ~

Today is the beginning of Lent...40 days of preparation for Easter. I'd like to share a wonderful way of observing this special season, especially if you have children or grands. Amanda, at Dixie Delights, shared her family's tradition on her blog today. There are free printables that you can download and use for your family!

Focusing on prayer, kindness and sacrifice is such an amazing way to bring attention to Lent and Easter.  Check it out!

  1. Yes, it's Lent today, and we start to refrain from meat today and on Fridays until Easter. I'm off to check out Dixie Delights right now. Have a sweet day, Pat.

  2. In our church we didn't grow up recognizing the days of Lent. I don't know why because we certainly were participants in communion. We mourned our Lord's death and celebrated on Easter Sunday. All changed for me when my little brother was killed on Palm Sunday. Easter had a special meaning forever after that. It was the longest week of my life. There's so much emotion that goes into this season for me. To think that God gave His son so that we may see Him again is beyond me. There are sepcial moments when God came very near to us during this time. Thanks for sharing this today.
