~ Tuesday Thoughts ~

Unfortunately, this has been me for the past week.  Not fun!  Today is the first day I've felt human and so, so glad!  My daughter has been much worse but she's back to work now. We both had the flu shots early on. I'm not quite sure what this "bug" has been but it's very flu like and I hope you can avoid it!

I saw this article about Jackie O and her granddaughter and wanted to share.

The Kennedy family has some seriously strong genes. The Internet is currently freaking out because the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis's granddaughter, comedian Rose Kennedy Schlossberg, looks like a straight-up clone of Jackie O.

Here's Jackie O. on the left and the 27-year-old Schlossberg on the right:

It's crazy, right? They have the same face shape and nearly identical features.According to the Huffington Post, people came to this realization after Schlossberg launched a comedy series on the Web. The daughter of Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg, Rose Kennedy Schlossberg was raised on New York City's Upper East Side, and Jackie O. used to dote on her. And she may be the spitting image of her grandma, but Schlossberg is making a name for herself in the comedy world with her new video series called "End Times Girls Club."

I've always been fascinated by the Kennedy's and, similar to 9/11, I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when JFK was assassinated.  In fact, we were living in Amarillo at the time and left later in the day to come here to the DFW area for Thanksgiving. Of course, when we arrived here I was glued to the TV the whole time!  No cell phones, tablets, computers, etc.  We had to rely on the radio or TV.  :)  I watched while Jack Ruby shot Oswald, the swearing in of LBJ on Air Force One with Jackie's blank stare, still in the pink suit stained with JFK's blood. Of course, I watched the funeral and shed many tears, especially when John-John saluted his dad.  Truly, the end of Camelot.

My cousin's husband was a deputy sheriff in Dallas at the time and he was on duty and in the midst of it all.  The Secret Service, FBI and every other department interrogated him for hours. I'm not sure how many of you have followed the story like I have but there has always been such mystery about the assassination and quite a number of conspiracy theories. Many that were close to the situation died suddenly and mysteriously over the years...car accidents, supposed suicides, heart attacks, hunting accidents, drownings, you name it. Terry, my cousin's husband was called to New Orleans for unspoken reasons and, while there, supposedly committed suicide in his hotel room.  Not!  He was certainly not the type to even consider it. And answers were never provided. Such a sad and senseless event!  Perhaps that's one of the many reasons I've read so much about JFK and the entire Kennedy clan. Joe, Sr., was a ruthless and demanding patriarch, Rose tolerated a LOT for appearances and status in society. So many devastating losses, I'm not sure how the woman held it together!  Really, the entire family has been touched more than once by tragedy.

I must apologize...I honestly didn't intend to ramble as I have. IF you made it this far, I am very grateful!!

I'm not sure if you're familiar with Greeting Card Universe

or not, but I highly recommend them!  You may choose any type of card for any occasion. Many you are able to change the verbiage inside. They will mail them to you first class or you can pick them up at a Target photo center. Takes about an hour once your order is placed. Also, there is the option of having the card mailed directly to the recipient for you!  You automatically receive a 20% discount with your first order and there are constant sales going on.  I realized this afternoon I had not arranged Easter cards for my Chemo buddies as well as my Senior buddy. I made my selections online, sent the order to the Target near me and made it over there to pick them up. Perhaps it's just me and my first venture out but I'm still trying to decide if the colors on the cards are as vivid as those I had mailed to me. I'll let you know!  :)  I recently sent one of these cards to my Senior buddy and she loved it!  Truly, the flowers on the front of the card looked like part of a garden that you could just step in. She's 94 and sent me a precious thank you note for the card and something else I had sent to her. She's such a joy and a huge blessing to me!

I'm sorry I haven't been around to visit...just haven't felt like being on the computer. I hope you're having a wonderful week as you plan for this very special weekend coming up.
